FIRST FULL DAY AT THE RANCH

I brought Ame's kids to the ranch for the summer.  I can tell already that we are in for some exciting times.  I bought a 5th wheel trailer to use as a "bunkhouse" for the grandkids to sleep in and to minimize traffic in the main house.  The boys found spider(s) and refused to sleep there so they are sacked out on the living room floor. It's a spider hunt on the plan for tomorrow. Sheesh.

Christian and Jack getting some quality time with the kitten.

Little Ronnie doesn't know he's a baby.  He thinks he's as big as the other kids and will do whatever it takes to prove it.  Even leading the horse Shelbi is riding.

Ashlie got some horse time in this morning. She looks real comfortable.

The boys and I hiked for an hour in the sandy dry creek bed I call the gully.  Don't know what I was thinking. My legs ache so bad tonite.  I'll probably go back for more tomorrow.  Its a good work out.

Tomorrow, a day to be filled with clearing rocks from the back field, feeding animals, and play time.  Better hush and get some zzzzz myself.

Getting Caught Up

Who Am I?  Its the new favorite game at Shelbi's house.  We were celebrating my birthday, or maybe the last day of school.  I can't remember it was too long ago.  I really should keep up with the events. But really, these kids bounce from one exciting activity to another a dozen times in one hour it seems.  At least they keep me active.  I'd like to say they keep me young, but don't think I can and be honest.

Poor Shelbi fell and broke her arm. A new hot pink cast will help her heal quickly.  It isn't stopping her from being busy, just slows her down some.

Finally received the official document showing our ranch brand.

So excited to be branded. (hee hee.)  This is known as the Bar BH brand.  A couple of my boys want to raise some cattle.  We'll see.  I just wanted an official brand to use whenever and to brand any artsy fartsy stuff we do.  Also, if/when we begin olive oil production its kind of a neat label.
